One of the most common questions I get asked as a bridal makeup artist is what makeup products and brands I have in my professional kit, the answer for this is that I use a very large array of high-end makeup and skincare products including; Charlotte Tilbury, Nars, Urban Decay, Laura Mercier, Dermalogica, La Roche Posay, Fenty, Chanel, Marc Jacobs Beauty, Tom Ford Beauty…. the list goes on! Like most makeup artists I have a selection of go to products which I will list below, explaining why I love these products especially for bridal makeup.
Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré Nourishing Moisturiser
This product is one of my most used for skin preparation which is absolutely key to a flawless makeup finish, no matter how good the makeup products are if the skin isn’t prepped appropriately the finish will not have the desired effect! One of the reasons I love this product is that it works with pretty much every skin type, offering hydration to the skin without feeling heavy on the skin. This is also an affordable product which I’d recommend my brides to purchase and use in the run up to the wedding day!
Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat Highlighter
This is one of my all-time favourite concealers due to its light coverage which really helps to prevent creasing, something that is key when wearing makeup for a long period of time – wedding makeup needs to be made to last for the whole duration of the day and night. The shades of the concealer pen also work with colour correcting due to some of them having peach undertones, peach is the perfect colour to cancel out any dark under eyes (as brides will know wedding prep can cause some sleepless nights!) Although slightly pricier it is absolutely worth the money, only a small amount is needed and so this product lasts a long time.
Fenty Beauty Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Bronzer
The cream contour of dreams!! This product is one of my absolute favourite cream products, the application is so easy due to it blending seamlessly and being buildable meaning it can achieve either a natural or very full coverage contour depending on the brides desired makeup look! Another benefit of this contour is the shade range, Fenty is known for its large choice of shades and this product certainly offers that. I use this on most of my brides and the finish and longevity of this product is amazing.
A lot of my brides want a lip gloss for their wedding day but are concerned that it won’t last, the Peaches and Cream lip gloss is the perfect solution to this. Using the Peaches and Cream lip liner first over the whole lip and topping with the lip gloss creates a long lasting finish, this gloss is super shiny and comes in a variety of shades to suit all skin tones and makeup styles.
Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder
Finally for setting the brides makeup I am absolutely obsessed with the Laura Mercier Translucent powder, for a matte look or to get rid of any extra shine on a glowy look this powder is perfect. Along with setting makeup to last all day this powder gives a HD finish, making skin look absolutely flawless for the whole day!
